Can I purchase content from any site?

No. Vidéotron manages the distribution of content to its customers to ensure artists and content owners are rightly compensated for licence fees.

Vidéotron is not responsible for the fees billed by another site or any damages incurred to your phone by downloading content from sites other than those provided by Vidéotron as part of its download services.

Can I preview a polytone, authentic ringtone, wallpaper, game, tune or video clip before downloading it to my phone?

Yes. Visit wirelessdownload.videotron.com. To listen to ringtones on your computer, you need a sound card and Flash plugin. Screen captures for games are also available.

NOTE: Vidéotron does its best to ensure that the content that appears on your phone is the same as on the site; however it cannot guarantee that it will function in exactly the same way.

How do I set the downloaded content on my phone?

How do I change my phone's ringtone or screen saver?

What is my phone's storage capacity?

Storage capacity depends on your phone's model. For some, the storage capacity can be increased using a memory card. Consult your phone's User Guide to find out if your phone is equipped with additional storage.

If your phone's storage is full and you are trying to download another item, you will be asked to delete an item that you have previously downloaded. This item will be deleted permanently and you will have to purchase and download it to your phone again.

Can I set a specific polytone, authentic ringtone or wallpaper for each number in my phone book?

Can I transfer content from my old phone to my new one?

No, downloads cannot be transferred from one phone to the other.

Downloaded content is reserved for the exclusive use of your Vidéotron wireless phone. You cannot transmit, distribute, reproduce or modify downloaded content to your phone.

What is 1 MB?

One megabyte (MB) equals 1,024 kilobytes (KB). In other words, one megabyte equals approximately:

• 25 Web pages (about 40 KB/downloaded page) or;
• 170 WAP document searches (about 6 KB/search) or;
• 20 Excel pages or;
• 1 15-page PowerPoint presentation.

Ringtones

What is a ringtone?

It's a personalized ringtone that can be downloaded to your Vidéotron wireless phone. When your phone rings, you will hear the ringtone you have chosen. Choose among hundreds of popular tunes. Ringtones are fun and make your phone stand out from the crowd.

What is a polytone?

Instead of beeps and bells, polyphonic ringtones play notes simultaneously, giving the tune a sound much closer to the original.

What is an authentic ringtone?

It's a new dimension in ringtones that lets you express your individuality. Authentic ringtones are divided into two categories: musical ringtones and vocal ringtones. Musical ringtones are real excerpts of tunes, voices and music. Vocal ringtones are excerpts from your favourite actors, cartoon characters and superheroes saying famous quotes, film quotes or simply telling you that your phone is ringing.

How can I listen to the ringtone before buying it?

Visit wireless.videotron.com and click on the speaker icon next to the title of the ringtone.

How can I set different ringtones for each caller?

You can set a different ringtone for each one of your contacts. The steps to set ringtones differ for each model. Consult your phone's User Guide for details.

Games

What is a downloadable game?

Downloadable games are interactive, multimedia and arcade-type games that you can purchase and download to your phone, complete with integral sound, improved graphics and much more! Play as often as you want; charges only apply when you download the game, and not each time you play.

What type of games can I download? Single- or multi-player?

You can only download single-player games. Multi-player games will be available soon.

How many games can I store in my phone?

Storage capacity depends on your phone's model and the content already stored. Most phones can store up to 10 games. If you are missing space, you must either delete an item or increase the storage capacity. Consult your phone's User Guide to find out if your phone offers additional storage.

Where can I find the instructions to the games I've downloaded?

You can find the games' instructions using the Help key while you are playing, or in the games' main menu.

Can I continue playing if I am outside my local calling area or in Airplane mode?

Yes. Network access is not necessary to play a game.

What kind of games can I play?

There is a wide selection of games, including quizzes, puzzles, casino, racing and strategy. New games are added regularly.

How do you play?

Instructions are available in the games' main menu or on the provider's Website.

Are they single-or multi-player games?

Only single-player games are available for now. Vidéotron will soon offer multi-player games.

Music

Where can I buy a tune?

Due to the size of audio files, they are only available on wireless.videotron.com.

Can I buy a tune for my computer only?

Yes, since the tune is downloaded from your computer.

How do I buy a tune?

Are there a lot of tunes to choose from?

Yes and our library is constantly growing.

How many tunes can I store in my phone?

Storage capacity varies according to the model of the phone and the size of the memory card. Consult your phone's User Guide for details.

What happens when my phone rings while I am listening to music?

Depending on your phone's model, the music will automatically pause to let you answer your call. After your call, deactivate the pause function and go back to listening to your music. To learn more, consult your phone's User Guide.

Wireless phones are prohibited on airplanes, in hospitals and other public places. Can I still listen to music with my phone in these places without causing interferences?

Yes, network access is not necessary to listen to music. You can listen to downloaded music with your phone on Airplane mode.

How do I delete a tune from my playlist?

How do I activate/deactivate the speakerphone?

It depends on your phone's model. Consult your phone's User Guide for details.

Why can't I hear anything?

See if the following solutions solve the problem:

1. You have not selected "Play" to hear the tune;
2. The volume is too low;
3. The headphones are not plugged in properly;
4. The phone is in silent mode.

If you still cannot hear anything, consult your phone's User Guide for details or contact Customer Service by dialling *611 from your wireless phone.

The tune isn't playing. What should I do?

If a tune is not playing, switch your phone off and back on again. Launch the player again. If it still doesn't work, communicate with Customer Service by dialling *611.

What sound quality can I expect when downloading a tune?

Vidéotron music is recorded with CD quality similar to MP3s recorded at 128 KB.

Can I use headphones?

Yes.

What is a playlist?

A playlist is a list of tunes created by the user (you) that you can choose to listen to rather than your entire music library.

Wallpapers

What is a wallpaper?

The pictures let you personalize your phone whenever you want.

Will my new wallpapers replace my old ones?

For details about storing wallpapers in your phone, consult the help section of your phone's User Guide.

For older models, the service provider's logo will replace existing logos; however your items can usually be stored.

Will the digital watermark still be visible once I have downloaded the wallpaper?

No, once you have paid, you will be able to download the wallpaper without the watermark.

Video clips

What is a video download?

Video downloads are pre-recorded video clips that can be downloaded to Vidéotron wireless phones.

How many clips can I store in my phone?

Storage capacity depends on your phone's model and the size of the memory card. Consult your phone's User Guide for details.

What happens if I am watching a clip and my phone rings?

Depending on your phone's model, the video clip will be put on pause so you can answer your phone. After your call, deactivate the pause function to continue viewing. To learn more, consult your phone's User Guide.
